Savortex

Background

Savortex produces environmentally friendly, energy efficient hand-driers. The business is run by former The Apprentice candidate Syed Ahmed.

Partnering with Intel under it’s Internet of Things initiative Savortex has developed the adDryer which is an intelligent, remote washroom monitoring device with a screen which generates advertising revenue for Savortex’s clients. The adDryer recently won a prestigious Manufacturer MX Award.

Issues and Challenges

An EU initiative had targeted Savortex as worthy of funding for a circular economy pilot.

JMCL advises on the financial and procurement aspects of circular economy initiatives – extracting the maximum use from products then recovering and regenerating materials at the end of product life – making us ideally placed to advise and support Savortex.

The Process

The adDryer generates income for its owners which is a new concept given that driers are traditionally a necessary overhead. We introduced the company to another of our clients, Total Fitness, to pilot the adDryer. We then facilitated, monitored and reported the results of the pilot for both parties and EU-wide dissemination.

Outcomes

We have identified a pilot for Savortex, provided independent evidence of their circular economy credentials, identified a money-generating and environmentally beneficial product for our clients and enhanced the customer experience at another of our Total Fitness health clubs.

What makes us so different?

“Jonny immediately understood exactly what we’re all about and was able to help due to his contacts, excellent relationships, creativity and knowledge of circular economy procurement. We’ll continue to work together.”
