Mazars

Background

Mazars is a global accountancy firm, the tenth largest in the UK, with 17 offices.

Issues and Challenges

Mazars had had a difficult relationship with previous procurement consultants, so it was vital that we quickly prove value and build trust. Mazars identified its fixed and mobile communications as two categories where it wanted to achieve savings and improve services.

The Process

Using specialist software and working closely with key Mazars people, we analysed historic and current usage and determined future requirements. We looked at patterns of usage and also identified historic overcharging.

Outcomes

With our expert knowledge of the communications market, specialist software and access to exclusive deals, we secured exceptional deals for Mazars.

Our mobile communications deal gave Mazars greater flexibility in choice of devices and achieved an ongoing 40% pa saving, emphasising protection from overseas usage charges. We also negotiated a significant hardware fund for Mazars to implement its proposed device re-fresh without facing a large, cash outflow.

After analysing call records and invoices in great detail we tendered and changed their supplier on fixed-lines and delivered savings 40% per annum saving, with a significantly more flexible contract.

As a result of our achievements, Mazars has now asked us to undertake a full diagnostic of UK spend and the efficiency and effectiveness of its current procurement practices.
